Some of YSFP's current projects are listed below. These projects are being implemented by YSFP's management team with the cooperation of its members and volunteers. Member projects will also be added in the near future.

  Pacific Youth Media Development

Problem: There is a stark lack of youth friendly media in the Pacific to assist youth in understanding important issues, and a lack of opportunities for youth to communicate their concerns, voices and share ideas across remote areas where many may not have television or regular newspapers.

Solution: YSFP together with the award winning Youth Action for Change and the award winning MediaSnackers teamed up to build a program which will train Pacific youth to create and run their own radio shows, initially in Tonga and PNG. With radio stations already agreeing to broadcast the content, regular youth radio shows will be created along with a range of other new media avenues empowering youth.

World Bank Research Study on the role of Youth Participation in Development

Problem: Youth participation has been in the spotlight for a few years now, and numerous reports have highlighted the importance of young people and the roles they play in development. However, what is youth participation in a Pacifika context? What are the most effective ways to engage young people in development? How does youth participation effect development? And what are the gaps in the youth participation framework of the Pacific?

Solution: The World Bank commissioned YSFP to undertake a study into the above mentioned problems in six South Pacific nations. After a comprehensive research process, the report is to be released to the public in early 2008.
