Create the Change!

Use theatre and peer education to combat bullying and discrimination in your local community.

An innovative Conflict and Communication peer‐to‐peer education programme, training "ambassadors" to teach their peers speaking, listening and conflict resolution skills using games, exercises & drama.

We offer schools and youth groups two options for the programme free of charge:

The Ambassador Programme for Conflict Resolution

Student volunteers will receive a day of training on dealing with conflict and delivering workshops on conflict resolution. They will learn games and exercises, develop their presentation and facilitation skills, as well as increase their knowledge of their own communication style and responses to conflict.

We will support the group as they create workshops from the menu of ideas provided, together with their own innovations. They will then facilitate a series of conflict and communication workshops with younger students.

The Forum Theatre Programme for Conflict Resolution

The second programme is designed to explore conflict within a school or local community. The project will bring together students who struggle in school and do not usually participate in the community, with their higher achieving peers. We will work with the group for a maximum of 12 hours (either intensively, or over a six‐week period) to explore perceptions of conflict. We will then build a short piece of drama based on their real experiences. At the end of the process we will share this story with their year group in an assembly. We will invite members of the audience to come on stage following the play, to change places with a character and try a different approach, giving students the opportunity to see how different choices affect conflict situations. If students choose to, they can also perform to family members, thus reaching out into the wider community.
