Ambassador Programme for Secondary School Students
Empowering young people to be the change and educate their peers or younger pupils on the issue of sustainability.
How it works
Training
Peace Child provides a day's training for a group of between 10-20 committed young people of 13 years old and above.
- They learn more about the chosen issue
- Learn presentational skills
- See examples of how to run easily replicable workshops
- Are encouraged to be creative and come up with their own ideas.
Follow up support
Peace Child will provide on- going advisory sessions to help them to deliver and report on their workshops.
An Ambassador is trained so that they can introduce the Be The Change Challenge to others through workshops, games and presentations.
They can either give workshops in their feeder primary schools or and space to allow them to come up with creative ideas to put the lead sessions for younger pupils in their school
Rewards
An Ambassador learns:- How to live sustainably/consume less
- Training in public speaking
- Encouragement to be creative
- Experience in leading classroom sessions
- Confidence in speaking in front of others
- Skills that can be adapted for other programmes.
This experience looks good on the CV. Colleges and employers welcome these key skills
After 5 presentations they get a Peace Child Ambassador certificate.
