About Us
Peace Child International empowers young people to take responsibility for peace, human rights and the environment through education, leadership development and direct participation in the events that shape our world community.

WYC 2008 will welcome 600 young activists from around 120 countries who are committed to rise to the generational challenge of sustainable development. A majority will exhibit their YLD projects. Others will report on them – writing a book celebrating YLD achievements. All will take part in discussions with development professionals and in a global festival to celebrate International Youth Day, August 12th.

Be The Change
  What is it?

Be the Change! is a youth-led sustainable development Action Programme which aims to empower young people around the world to "be the change they want to see in the world." (Mahatma Gandhi) Peace Child offers financial support and advice to the young people to create and complete a variety of different projects.

BTC Challenge
  What is it?

The Be the Change! Challenge promotes behavioural change and sustainable lifestyles through a 3 step-learning event for young people. The Be the Change! Challenge team offers schools and youth groups a fun and memorable way to learn about familiar issues such as energy, fair-trade and recycling and show them how they can take action.

Faith in Europe
Do you have faith in Europe?

One can divide the people’s of Europe in many ways – by age, by nationality, by religious affiliation – but which of us are the most enthusiastic Europeans? As the institutions that have kept peace and brought prosperity to most Europeans these last 60 years, fall to their lowest levels of popularity ever, the young people of the Peace Child network are undertaking a research project in every European Union member state to find out our different feelings about the future of Europe.

Co-Management
  Becoming Equal Partners

“The way to measure excellence in youth participation with adults is the extent to which the young participants feel ownership of the project on which they are working and, equally, the extent to which the adult participants feel satisfied by the contribution made by the young people.”

Peace Child International has been charged with the task of creating a booklet that converts the complex ideas, and dense prose of the Human Development Report into a format that is exciting, vibrant and accessible to young people around the world. learn more.
